Market Risk Leadership Opportunity

Overview:

  • This senior leadership position oversees market risk across multiple portfolios and asset classes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage market risk oversight for various asset classes and trading desks, ensuring effective control mechanisms are in place.
  • Evaluate key risk drivers and performance metrics to identify trends and explain significant shifts.
  • Interpret and apply risk appetite, scenario testing, stress testing, and capital requirements to optimize portfolio performance.
  • Lead risk modeling efforts, including Value at Risk (VaR), and oversee model validation and back-testing to ensure accuracy.
  • Assess new products, model changes, and exceptions to risk frameworks, providing strategic recommendations for improvement.
  • Monitor financial market developments and assess their impact on risk exposures, adapting the strategy accordingly.
  • Deliver in-depth risk analysis and reporting to senior leadership and regulators, ensuring transparency and compliance.
  • Collaborate with trading, finance, compliance, and audit teams to maintain sound risk governance practices.
  • Represent the organization in regulatory discussions, audits, and remediation programs, advocating for best practices.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of market risk professionals to drive high performance and a strong risk culture.
  • Maintain alignment with internal governance and external regulatory standards, ensuring seamless integration.

Requirements:

  • Exceptional communication skills with ability to articulate complex risk concepts effectively.
  • Extensive experience in market risk management, preferably in a senior leadership capacity.
  • Relevant professional qualifications, such as CFA or FRM certifications.
