Anton Murray Consulting is representing a prominent Private Wealth Manager in search of a skilled Client Onboarding / KYC professional to enhance their Account Management Team. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with both global standards and local regulatory requirements concerning Know Your Client (KYC) documentation.

The successful candidate will possess a solid understanding of Private Banking and Wealth Management onboarding processes, particularly for Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) and High Net Worth (HNW) clients, as well as Trusts. Experience in a Compliance or Anti-Money Laundering (AML) capacity within a leading global bank is highly desirable. The team is responsible for the comprehensive onboarding process for clients, which includes individual, joint, trusts, and an expanding portfolio of funds and subsidiaries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess documentation provided by Sales, including Client Identification Program (CIP) documents and Account Opening Documents, ensuring adherence to global and local policies. Communicate effectively with Sales regarding any missing or inconsistent documentation.
  • Identify and escalate regulatory issues or exceptions to management for further analysis; conduct Enhanced Due Diligence as necessary. Present high-risk accounts for Global Financial Crimes (GFC) approval.
  • Verify the accuracy of information impacting clients' Money Laundering (ML) and Terrorist Financing (TF) risk, including Source of Wealth (SoW) and Total Net Worth.
  • Engage proactively with Sales teams to provide KYC and ML/TF guidance, aiming to enhance the quality of client due diligence.
  • Ensure that account opening documentation and approval records are accurately maintained in the internal database and track outstanding documentation within required timelines.

Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of various account structures.
  • Familiarity with trusts, charities, and foundations is advantageous.
  • Understanding of CIP requirements for onboarding high-risk clients is a plus.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Self-driven and enthusiastic.
  • Ability to recognize risks associated with onboarding processes, including identifying potential red flags and understanding high-risk industries.
  • Seeking candidates who are problem solvers, demonstrating the right attitude and energy to tackle challenges effectively.

Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent educational background is required.
  • 3-6 years of relevant experience in the financial services sector is preferred, although candidates with less experience may be considered.
  • Previous experience in Compliance or Risk within a private banking environment or onboarding at a top-tier bank is ideal.
