Key Roles and Responsibilities">

The Licensing team plays a vital role in ensuring the suitability of individuals and corporations who participate in the liquor and gaming industry. This involves identifying trends and issues affecting the sector and recommending appropriate strategies to address them.

As part of this team, you will be responsible for:

  • Identifying operational trends and issues within the liquor and gaming industry that could impact upon Government or be contrary to the public interest.
  • Developing and implementing a risk-based approach to operations, executing good governance and fostering a culture of continuous improvement incorporating a high standard of client service.
  • Preparing submissions, reports and correspondence of a complex and substantial nature relating to strategic and operational matters.
  • Supervising the preparation of responses to appeals before the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal and ensuring the department is competently represented at hearings.
