Job Title

This is a Research Scientist position in the field of artificial intelligence and climate science.

The successful candidate will contribute to the development of an AI-based foundation model toolbox using historical, global and regional weather and climate data.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and fine-tune foundation models using Python or C++ programming skills.
  • Conduct collaborative research with the team and lead key components at an internationally competitive level.
  • Establish a personal research portfolio and develop independent research proposals under guidance.
  • Support PhD students working on the project.
Requirements
  • PhD in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field; weather/climate science acceptable with strong technical skills.
  • Advanced programming skills in Python or C++; experience developing and fine-tuning foundation models; HPC and multi-GPU programming.
  • Knowledge of state-of-the-art AI models; track record in collaborative coding; ability to stay current with discipline developments.
