The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital is a specialist hospital offering eye and ear care services across Victoria.

As the only specialist eye, ear, nose, and throat hospital in Australia, we provide comprehensive care for patients with vision and hearing loss.

We have almost 90 outpatient clinics for diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment of vision and hearing issues, and operate a 24-hour emergency service for eye, ear, nose, and throat conditions.

Our team cares for nearly 200,000 patients annually, including over 136,000 outpatients, 42,000 emergency patients, and 14,000 inpatients.

We recently completed a major redevelopment to enhance our facilities and improve patient access.

About the Role: We seek experienced medical professionals to join our Acute Ophthalmology Service, Surgical Ophthalmology Service, and Emergency Department on a sessional basis.

Applicants will work closely with our senior medical staff to provide high-quality, patient-centered care and on-call services as rostered.

They will also supervise, educate, and train junior medical staff, nurses, allied health professionals, observers, and students.

To be successful, applicants must be eligible for Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (FRANZCO) and hold current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

They will need to undergo a criminal record check and provide evidence of a Working With Children check prior to commencing employment.
