Job Overview
Maintenance technicians play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of industrial equipment. As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, your primary responsibility will be to perform preventative and corrective maintenance on complex baggage handling systems. These systems incorporate automated storage cranes and specialized transport mechanisms.

This is a full-time, on-site position that involves working 12-hour shifts as part of a 24/7 roster at Western Sydney International Airport. Your duties will include conducting regular electrical maintenance inspections, diagnosing and repairing faults in electrical systems and components, and ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety standards.

The successful candidate will possess a strong background in electrical engineering, with a Certificate III in Engineering – Electrical from a reputable Australian institution. They should also have a minimum of 3-5 years' experience working as a service technician, preferably in an industrial setting. In addition, they must be proficient in Microsoft Office software and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

The ideal candidate will also have a dual trade certificate in electrical and mechanical disciplines, as well as experience working with logistics, postal sorting, and baggage handling systems. Automation expertise, particularly in conveyors and sortation systems, is highly regarded. A motivated individual with a desire to continuously improve their skills and knowledge would be an attractive asset to our team.
