The Job Description
We are seeking a Business Support Officer to join our team at our Melbourne location. This role will involve working independently, while also collaborating with the Corporate Affairs Lead, Procurement, and Logistics teams to drive strategic purchasing and cost control optimisation objectives for Bureau Veritas.

Responsibilities:
  1. Category management strategy and planning, including managing specific contracts and being the single point of contact for suppliers on all contract matters.
  2. Procurement activities, including managing highly complex/sensitive procurement activities.
  3. Representation and promotion of the procurement function and its services/expertise.
  4. Rapport development with key business stakeholders at varying levels across the department.
  5. Negotiation of cost and contract terms with suppliers to achieve maximum value for Bureau Veritas.
  6. Commercial and procurement expertise, advice, and assistance to internal stakeholders.
  7. Vendor management, including maintaining and improving service levels and optimising cost to the company.
  8. Cost savings project initiation and reporting.
  9. Best practice internal procurement and contract management policy, procedures, work instructions, and standards development and maintenance.
  10. Tender development and release for supply contracts, supplier briefings, and evaluation processes.
  11. Procurement activity reporting and maintenance of knowledge and understanding of procurement practices, policies, and guidelines.
  12. Support to Facilities Manager with invoice management and to Logistics with inventory control.
  13. Support to Corporate Affairs Lead.
  14. KPI Dashboard monitoring and management.
