Research Fellow Position

This role offers an opportunity to contribute towards the research effort of a leading institution and develop your research expertise through the pursuit of defined projects relevant to your particular field of research.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct independent or collaborative research focused on mining equipment development and safety technologies.
  • Enable research teams to produce scholarly output recognized by peers.
  • Undertake specific research projects under the guidance of a research leader.
  • Support dissemination of research outcomes.
  • Engage in discipline-appropriate research activities such as surveys, literature reviews, data gathering, and recording results.
  • Participate in and present at conferences and workshops.
  • Assist in supervising research students where required.
Requirements
  • A PhD in Mining, Safety, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.
  • Commitment to staying updated with discipline knowledge.
  • Experience in mining equipment/product design, development, testing, or safety technologies.
  • Track record of publications and conference presentations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines and build relationships.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Background in industrial design or product development and at least 5 years of relevant experience (desirable).
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and research partners.
