We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Public Affairs Officer to join our communications team.
As a key member of our team, you will contribute to public affairs activities and help shape strategies that maintain and enhance our position with the community and stakeholders. From managing traditional and social media content and engagement to monitoring community sentiment, your work will improve our connection with the community.
- Tertiary qualifications in journalism, communications, or public relations, along with experience in a similar role.
- Demonstrated communication capability and the ability to translate complex information into accessible content.
- Good knowledge of public affairs, media communications, and stakeholder engagement disciplines.
- Understanding of the local government context and working environment.
- Strong working knowledge of social media and digital platforms.
- Understanding of managing media releases and responses.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including content development capabilities.
- Ability to relate well to the public, elected members, media, management, and staff.
