Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dry Receiving Supervisor to join our team at Costco Wholesale. As a key member of our warehouse operations, you will be responsible for supervising and directing inbound and outbound depot traffic, ensuring that all procedures are followed and that our customers receive the highest level of service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and direct inbound and outbound depot traffic, instructing truck drivers and assisting them with any queries.
  • Schedule and supervise daily activities of reporting employees, coordinating employee breaks, lunches, and side tasks.
  • Observe paperwork to determine that depot procedures are followed.
  • Provide training, encouragement, advice, and feedback to reporting employees.
  • Monitor reporting employee's productivity, safety, and ensure smooth flow of trucks / goods in and out of the depot.
  • Communicate with Buyers and Vendors from time to time.
  • Set and release dock restraints and dock plates, open, close, lock, and unlock roll-up bay doors and trailer doors.
  • Verify discrepancies between goods ordered and received, keep records, check temperature, and seal the outbound loads.
  • Check facility safety, security, cleanliness, and battery recharging.
  • Assist in other departments of the Depot as necessary.
  • Must have warehouse experience and must be physically fit.
  • Must be able to work in split shifts / rotating roster / Saturdays.
  • Must be versatile and keen to work in both DRY & WET and in different departments as per business needs.

Requirements:

  • Education/Training: Higher School Certificate preferred.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Must have Forklift Licence.
  • Knowledge/Skills: Intermediate MS word and Excel skills. Knowledge of WH&S in everyday occupational situations.
  • Other Skills and Abilities: Previous experience in supervisory role. Ability to multi-task.

Additional Requirements:

  • The successful candidate will be subject to criminal record check as the facility is a biosecurity facility.
  • The successful candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol screening.
