Electrical Project Engineer

Join a leading engineering, procurement, and construction business that delivers projects across multiple continents.

As an Electrical Project Engineer, you will contribute to the successful delivery of construction projects on behalf of our clients. Your expertise in electrical project management will be essential in driving project outcomes safely and on time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage work tasks and priorities in collaboration with electrical superintendents, supervisors, and senior engineers.
  • Communicate daily construction progress with electrical supervisors and leading hands, capturing information in the Quality Management Report (QMR).
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and other engineering documentation.
  • Perform calculations for site modifications and general site engineering problem-solving using engineering formulas and skills.
  • Compile and maintain workpacks of relevant electrical design information to support construction works by the site electrical team.
  • Provide technical support to electrical supervisors, leading hands, and electricians for the execution of workpacks.
  • Communicate with the design team to resolve issues identified with design information in preparing and executing workpacks.
  • Collaborate with the planning team to address issues related to data entry into the QMR.
  • Redline markup design information with site-as-constructed information where there are differences.
  • Support the completion of construction activities, including participating in walk-downs, Inspections and Testing Reports (ITRs), and punch lists documentation.
  • Work with site project engineers to develop and maintain trackers providing visibility on location and quantity of construction materials.
  • Verify site deliveries and provide engineering support for orderly storage of construction materials.

Requirements:

  • University degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant discipline.
  • Experience in multi-discipline, EPC projects.
  • Experience in the mining or energy industry with on-site works during construction and commissioning.
  • Experience with installation of steel piping systems and heavy mechanical equipment.
  • Experience in quality control and assurance.
  • Strong understanding of applicable codes.
