A Academic Position Available in Medicine

We are seeking a dedicated academic to join our team as a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Medicine.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the teaching, assessment, and academic support of medical students enrolled in the Joint Medical Program.
  • Play a key role in curriculum development and demonstrate excellence across Teaching and Learning, Research and Innovation, and Service and Engagement.
Requirements
  • A doctoral qualification/PhD (or near completion) or equivalent accreditation and standing in Medicine.
  • Current registration as a medical practitioner with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with no restrictions, notations or conditions.
  • Proven experience in teaching, assessment, and/or curriculum development at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • Evidence of leadership through peer mentoring or clinical leadership roles.
  • A commitment to collaborative engagement with clinicians and health services to improve healthcare outcomes.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
  • A collaborative and adaptable approach to supporting all aspects of the Joint Medical Program.
  • A current driver's licence.
Preferred Requirements for Senior Lecturer Role
  • Unconditional registration as a Specialist Medical Practitioner with AHPRA (or equivalent), with recent clinical experience.
  • Active Fellowship with a recognised Australian Specialty College.
  • Demonstrated leadership in learning and teaching, including course coordination, curriculum development, and mentoring at undergraduate, honours and postgraduate levels.
  • A strong record of clinical supervision of medical students, junior doctors, and registrars.
  • A track record of collaborative, health-related research or quality improvement initiatives.
  • Proven leadership and management capabilities.
