The role involves delivering high-quality social work services in a forensic mental health setting.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment through risk reduction and rights-based interventions.
- Work with consumers and family members to address psychosocial needs, facilitate access to support services, and provide referrals to external agencies.
- Recognize the unique issues and concerns faced by individuals and families involved in the forensic mental health system.
- Develop and maintain a service development portfolio, including relevant resources for the social work team.
- Prioritize complex issues, such as community transition, service access, and relationships that impact individual wellbeing.
The successful candidate will have an approved degree in social work or other qualifications recognized by the Australian Association of Social Workers. They will also require post-qualifying experience in forensic mental health or a related field, along with the ability to deliver ethical and effective social work services in a statutory practice environment.
