About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Disability Support Worker to provide support to a young lady with complex needs in a home environment and within the community. This part-time position is located in West Rockhampton and requires around-the-clock 1 to 1 and 2 to 1 support, including sleepovers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implementing Positive Behavioural Support Plans.
  • Implementing authorised Restrictive Practices within the PBSP with a view to phasing out.
  • Maintaining effective communication and strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Performing housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, cooking, and managing laundry.
  • Administer medications and manage medical appointments as required.
  • Provide transportation assistance for community access and engagement activities.
  • Maintaining accurate records of support provided, including progress notes and incident reports.
  • Prioritising workloads & responding to emergent situations.
  • Attend all ongoing training to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements

  • Flexible availability
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in the disability sector, providing services to individuals with complex needs
  • Experience with implementing PBSP plans, Restrictive Practices and MAYBO physical intervention techniques
