About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Disability Support Worker to join our team in providing high-quality care and support to an individual with complex needs. This part-time position is located in West Rockhampton and requires around-the-clock 1 to 1 and 2 to 1 support, including both active awake hours and sleepovers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implementing Positive Behavioural Support Plans and handling mental health challenges.
  • Work with restrictive practices to ensure the safety and well-being of individuals.
  • Maintaining effective communication and strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Performing housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, cooking, and managing laundry.
  • Administer medications and manage medical appointments as required.
  • Provide transportation assistance for community access and engagement activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of support provided, including progress notes and incident reports.
  • Prioritising workloads & responding to emergent situations.
  • Attend all ongoing training to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements
  • Flexible availability
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in the disability sector, providing services to individuals with high complex needs
  • Experience with implementing PBSP plans, Restrictive Practices and MAYBO training
