Job Title

The Payroll Specialist role is crucial in delivering timely, accurate, and compliant payroll processing across Australia and New Zealand.


Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:
  • Processing weekly and fortnightly payroll using Micropay and ConnX
  • Maintaining accurate employee records and onboarding new starters
  • Managing payroll queries via email and phone with professionalism and a customer-first mindset
  • Ensuring compliance with internal controls, Australian taxation, superannuation, and Fair Work legislation
  • Coordinating with the People & Culture team on terminations, leave liabilities, and reporting
  • Supporting audits and handling administrative payroll tasks such as child support deductions and workers compensation reimbursements

About You
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in Australian payroll, with a strong working knowledge of income tax and payroll legislation, and an understanding of New Zealand payroll requirements is highly desirable
  • Proficiency in Micropay and ConnX is required
  • Experience interpreting awards or enterprise agreements, especially within hospitality or transport, will be advantageous
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (particularly Excel), high attention to detail, and a solutions-focused mindset are essential
  • Excellent time management, communication skills, and a commitment to customer service are necessary
  • Ability to work independently while thriving in a team is a must
