About the Role

The International Society for Bayesian Analysis is seeking a highly skilled and experienced researcher to lead our Data Science Hub. As Professor, Director of Data Science Hub, you will be responsible for cultivating and promoting foundational and applied research in Data Science with a focus on Environmental Data Science, Physical Data Science, and Health Data Science.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a strategic plan for the Data Science Hub, aligning with the Society's goals and objectives.
  • Lead a team of researchers and data scientists to conduct cutting-edge research in Data Science, with a focus on applied research.
  • Collaborate with multiple Schools within the Faculty and across the Society to promote interdisciplinary research and knowledge sharing.
  • Provide strategic guidance and support to the research team, ensuring the successful delivery of projects and the achievement of research objectives.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including industry partners, government agencies, and other academic institutions.

Requirements

  • PhD in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Statistics, or Mathematics.
  • Proven track record of research excellence in Data Science, with a strong publication record and a demonstrated ability to secure research funding.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with experience in leading teams and managing research projects.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to think strategically and make informed decisions that align with the Society's goals and objectives.
