Housing and Shelter Support Worker Role
The primary objective of this position is to provide a supportive environment for individuals in need.
This role plays a vital part in our mission to offer a nurturing atmosphere that fosters a sense of home and belonging. As a Housing/Shelter Support Worker, you will be instrumental in identifying clients' problems, needs, and risks.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with residents to develop and implement personalized support plans
- Building trusting relationships with residents and providing emotional support
- Conducting regular wellness checks and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of shelter facilities
- Distributing essential supplies and resources to residents
- Assisting residents with daily tasks and activities
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- A diploma in a related human/social service field
- A minimum of one year recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative and creativity
- Capacity to manage challenging situations and maintain a safe and calm environment
