About the Role

We are seeking a Rail Operations Manager to join our team in Western Australia, working on a regional rail project. This role will operate on a DIDO basis.

Rail Operations is an internal business unit within Laing O'Rourke, specialising in the sole delivery of all aspects of Rail. We work with a team of technical experts to deliver a high portfolio of work across Western Australia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a large multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of the overall project scope within time, cost, quality and safety requirements.
  • Drive high performance through collaboration, positive leadership, risk identification and interface with clients and authorities.
  • Actively promote continuous improvement and innovation; seek to learn from experiences to find better ways of doing things.
  • Build balanced teams with the right skills and behaviours; invest time and energy to coach and develop talent.
  • The ability to work with and influence stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes for all parties.

About You

  • Extensive experience in leading multidisciplinary teams on complex infrastructure projects, with experience in managing multiple stakeholders.
  • A degree in engineering or construction management.
  • Experience working on SMP/civil construction projects in the mining and resources industry with a focus on bulk earthworks and concrete.
  • Extensive construction experience including construction planning and management, leading teams, budgeting and planning, procurement, risk management, client management and dispute/issue resolution.
  • You will have a communication style that is adaptable from dealing with technical to presenting information to asset owners/stakeholders.

Benefits
