About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Health, Safety, and Wellbeing Advisor to join our team at Drillcut Ltd. As a critical member of our small leadership team, you will play a key role in driving a risk-aware safety culture across our manufacturing, warehouse, and distribution sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Elevate health, safety, and wellbeing efforts to ensure they are a priority in all parts of the operations.
  • Develop, enhance, and roll out OHSMS, safety, and wellbeing policies and procedures.
  • Uphold compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, focusing on minimising risks and fostering a secure and healthy work environment.
  • Establish emergency procedures and conduct drills to ensure responses to various emergency scenarios are appropriate.
  • Work with operational and site leaders to ensure that HSW accountabilities are communicated and understood by all employees.
  • Assess risks associated with machinery, plant, ergonomics, and other risks including work practices and vehicles as a workplace.
  • Formulate and execute strategies to alleviate identified risks, ensuring continuous adherence to safety protocols and compliance standards.
  • Conduct safety training sessions, covering all relevant hazard and risk topics.
  • Create and oversee a comprehensive HSW induction program.
  • Enhance knowledge, skills, and awareness by developing a safety committee.
  • Coach frontline leaders in understanding and application of safety leadership techniques.
  • Conduct regular site audits for compliance with HSE system requirements.
  • Conduct investigations into incidents, near misses, and hazard reports.
  • Manage WorkCover Statutory claims submissions to the regulator, development of return-to-work procedures, rehabilitation coordination, and return to work management.
About You
  • Bachelor's degree in HSE or other relevant field.
  • At least 5 years experience in HSW or safety management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in dealing with regulatory agencies.
  • Experience with Safety Management Systems and auditing.
  • Experience with Rehabilitation and Return to Work.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively to all levels of the organisation and external stakeholders.
  • Have a high level of computer literacy, particularly Excel.
  • You are passionate about driving cultural change within an organisation.
  • Have exceptional communication and leadership skills and a consultative approach.
