Ocean Freight Export Reefer Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Freight Forwarding Export Specialist to join our Ocean Freight Team in Melbourne. As an Ocean Freight Export Reefer Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and efficient handling of export documentation, bookings, and shipments.
Key Responsibilities- Arrange export documentation in accordance with customer and destination requirements
- Book shipments with carriers and execute all pertinent shipping documentation
- Create and confirm transport orders to ensure pickup of shipments at origin
- Follow up on shipment status within the Export area
- Identify performance issues of suppliers and propose solutions to improve operations
- Act as a key contact for customers, handling inquiries and requests, and assisting with complaints resolution
- Proactively communicate with customers regarding shipment status and exceptions
- Manage day-to-day export transactional and operational requirements
- Minimum 3 years' experience in Shipping/International freight forwarding industry in airfreight and/or ocean-freight operational roles
- Cargo Wise system experience required
- Knowledge in Meat, Fish, Dairy, and Horticulture exports, Chamber of Commerce Certificate of origins, EXDOC Health certificates (advantageous)
- Sound knowledge of Freight Forwarding and Logistics in general
- High degree of reliability, team player with a positive can-do attitude, results-driven, and strong communication and administration skills
