The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Financial Operations Manager to join our team on a maximum term contract. As a key member of our financial operations team, you will be responsible for managing the strategic and operational aspects of the Financial Accounting function. This includes providing leadership to the team, ensuring the integrity of the general ledger and financial information, and driving continuous improvement in accounting practices and internal controls.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with KPIs and accounting standards, including annual financial statements and reporting packs.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage the financial accounting team, providing training, development, and succession planning opportunities.
  • Daily Accounting Activities: Oversee daily accounting activities to maintain the firm's general ledger and ensure strong collaboration with other financial controlling functions.
  • Closing Processes: Drive monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes while continuously improving accounting practices and internal controls.
  • Consolidation and Financial Statement Preparation: Supervise the consolidation and financial statement preparation process, managing external auditor liaison.
  • Complex Accounting Issues: Resolve complex accounting issues and provide guidance on technical matters, including new accounting standards and transactional accounting.
Requirements

To succeed in this position, you will need:

  • A degree and CA/CPA qualifications.
  • 8+ years' experience in accounting and finance.
  • Experience in Service Trust arrangements (desirable).
  • Excellent organisational skills, with a thorough and methodical approach to work.
  • Demonstrable experience leading and motivating a team.
  • Experience initiating activities that contribute to meeting the organisation's strategic objectives.
