We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate professional to join our team as an Innovative Disability Support Specialist on the beautiful Gold Coast.

About the Role

  • The successful candidate will work with individuals with disabilities, their families, and support teams to provide person-centered support and planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support and guidance to individuals with disabilities to help them achieve their goals and improve their quality of life.
  • Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective support plans.
  • Use evidence-based practice and professional reasoning to recommend the most appropriate supports and therapies for individuals.
  • Build strong relationships with individuals, their families, and support teams to ensure that their needs are met and their rights are respected.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor or Master's degree in Disability or a related field is essential.
  • Membership of the DEAI (Disability Educators Australasia Inc.) is required upon commencement.
  • Eligibility to be deemed a Behaviour Support Practitioner by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
  • Strong advocacy skills and a commitment to removing barriers using the social model of therapy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
