Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Disability Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will provide personalized care and support to individuals with varying disabilities, ensuring their safety, well-being, and empowerment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct care and support to individuals with varying disabilities, promoting independence and dignity.
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks, tailored to meet individual needs.
- Support individuals in accessing community resources, social inclusion, and wellbeing activities, enhancing their overall quality of life.
- Maintain a safe and inclusive environment for all individuals, prioritizing their physical and emotional well-being.
- Monitor and document client progress and care provided, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, therapists, and other team members to ensure holistic care and comprehensive support.
Requirements:
- A genuine passion for supporting and empowering individuals with disabilities, driving positive outcomes and enhancing their lives.
- Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities is desirable, but not essential; we provide comprehensive training and support to ensure your success.
- Relevant qualifications in disability support, healthcare, or a related field are highly valued, but not mandatory; we focus on skills and aptitude rather than specific credentials.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are necessary for performing job duties and attending medical appointments.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, ensuring our clients receive consistent and compassionate care.
- The ability to use and access a smartphone for clocking in/out and shift notes is essential for efficient communication and record-keeping.
