About the Opportunity

This role presents an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for supporting Aboriginal youth to achieve independence and build fulfilling lives.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing guidance on budgeting, loan applications, and financial planning to support clients in purchasing their own homes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting clients to purchase their own homes by offering expert advice on budgeting, loan applications, and financial planning
  • Assisting families with understanding and navigating tenancy agreements and home-buying processes
  • Promoting home ownership opportunities through targeted marketing efforts
  • Maintaining accurate records of services provided, including pre-purchase inspections and land title verifications
  • Developing and reviewing participation plans for clients, ensuring progress towards their home ownership goals
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Certificate IV Qualification in a relevant field, or at least two (2) years' experience in a community service front-line role, or a willingness to undertake further training
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture, with experience working with Aboriginal young people and communities
  • A strong understanding of the challenges faced by Aboriginal youth with out-of-home care experiences
  • A current 'C' class driver's license
  • Willingness to obtain a Working with Children Check

Additionally, the following skills will be highly regarded:

  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work under pressure and demonstrate flexibility
  • Current knowledge of resources in the youth services field, including education and employment pathways
