Job Title: Bioinformatics Research Officer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced bioinformatics professional to join our team as a Bioinformatics Research Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the development and implementation of bioinformatics tools and workflows for high-throughput genomic sequencing data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and implementation of bioinformatics tools and workflows for high-throughput genomic sequencing data.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of researchers and technical staff in a state-of-the-art facility.
  • Contribute to impactful marine conservation research through data analysis, pipeline development, and scientific communication.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in science (e.g. genetics, genomics, molecular biology) or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with bioinformatics tools, command-line systems, and programming languages (e.g. bash, Python, R).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team.
