">The Office of the Secretary is a Group within the Department, and is responsible for the development of an integrated, sustainable and safe transport system for all Victorians and includes three groups: Communications and Customer Experience, Intergovernmental Relations and Legal.
">Communications and Customer Experience leads best-practice communications and engagement to connect DTP with our people, customers, industry partners and communities.

This is a 12 month Fixed Term Position
">Key Selection Criteria:
">The role requires strong experience in media issues management, with the ability to prepare high-quality communications and respond effectively to media enquiries.
">Success in the position relies on excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills, creativity in developing innovative communication strategies, and the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships.
">The ideal candidate will be proactive, adaptable, and capable of managing competing priorities while working both independently and collaboratively within a team.
">">Responsibilities:">
Prepare high-quality media materials, including responses, releases, event briefs and Q&A documents, ensuring they are accurate, clear and delivered within tight deadlines.
">Contribute to the development and implementation of media relations projects and initiatives, while supporting communication strategies across key Departmental business areas.
">Provide trusted media and communications advice to senior managers, preparing them for media interviews and briefings, and coaching them on effective messaging and delivery.
">Apply strong research and communication skills, exercise sound professional judgement, and identify opportunities to proactively promote the Department's work.
">Play a key role in escalating and helping to manage emerging issues that could affect the organisation's reputation.
