Key Responsibilities
  • Support families, caregivers, and clinical staff to understand how dementia impacts individuals.
  • Equip carers and clinicians with skills to prevent and respond to behaviour changes through modelling, coaching, and development of resources including behaviour support planning.
  • Synthesise information from observation and written documentation to provide recommendations that are relationship-centred and informed by evidence-based best practice.
  • Develop reports that contextualise individual situations and people, effecting change on the ground and improving quality of life for people living with dementia.
  • Conduct assessments to understand the holistic experience of individuals and their care networks.
  • Work in partnership with stakeholders to build capability across home and aged care sectors.
  • Contribute to research, projects, and programs, working innovatively to meet changing sector needs.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • Expertise in supporting people living with dementia.
  • Experience in Australian residential and community aged care.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • High-level problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to prioritise multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management.
  • A current Australian driver's license and willingness to travel.
  • Empathy and patience.
