Job Title: Groundsperson - Parks Maintenance Specialist

City of Parramatta is seeking a skilled Groundsperson to join our Parks and Open Space department. As a Groundsperson, you will be responsible for the maintenance of our premier parks and sporting facilities, providing high-quality landscape maintenance services.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Undertaking inspections of parks and other facilities
  • Mowing and landscape maintenance related to green public space
  • Fertilising and pesticide applications to sporting fields and Council Parks
  • Ensuring completion of all necessary administrative functions (electronic & paper based)
  • Adapting to changing priorities and undertaking other tasks as directed to assist other parks teams

About You

We are looking for someone with:

  • Current NSW Class C Driver's License (MR Desirable)
  • White Card
  • Chemical Application ChemUse AQF3
  • Previous experience working in an outdoor operational environment
  • Previous experience working in a landscape/gardening role
  • Experience in operation of a range of mowers and small plant equipment
  • Great communication skills
  • Great attention to detail

What's on Offer

We are offering an attractive weekly remuneration from $1,224 to $1,348 plus 11.5% superannuation. This position will attract allowances in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award 2023, which could include the Adverse Working Conditions Level Allowance.

The successful candidate is required to be vaccinated (at least 2 doses of a TGA approved COVID-19 vaccine) in accordance with Council's vaccination policy. Candidates may submit a medical contraindication for Council's consideration.

This position requires the preferred candidate to undertake a Pre-Employment Medical Check, which also includes a Drug and Alcohol test. The City of Parramatta supports a Drug and Alcohol-free working environment and employees may be subject to random testing as a result.
