About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Acquisitions and Contracting Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for managing the acquisition process from start to finish, ensuring compliance with all relevant government guidelines and regulations. Your primary goal will be to secure high-quality goods and services at competitive prices, while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities

  • Tender Evaluation and Negotiation: Coordinate tender evaluation processes, negotiate contracts, and document agreements to ensure timely and compliant procurement practices.
  • Contract Management: Maintain accurate records of contracts, including variations and service failures, to ensure seamless operations and minimize risks.
  • Strategic Procurement Planning: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement effective procurement strategies, policies, and systems that align with organizational goals.
  • Negotiations and Communication: Facilitate negotiations with suppliers and stakeholders to achieve value for money, while maintaining open communication channels to address any concerns or issues.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all procurement activities comply with relevant government and departmental guidelines, mitigating potential risks and promoting a culture of integrity.

About You

  • Proven Track Record: Demonstrate experience in managing multiple procurement projects, developing acquisition plans, and tender packages to drive successful outcomes.
  • Decision-Making and Problem-Solving: Showcase strong decision-making skills, with the ability to work under limited supervision and navigate complex situations effectively.
  • Value-Driven Expertise: Highlight your expertise in advising on value-for-money procurement practices and strategies, as well as your knowledge of relevant government and departmental guidelines.
  • Effective Communication: Emphasize your excellent communication skills and experience in liaising with internal and external stakeholders to build strong relationships and promote collaborative environments.
  • Commitment to Inclusion: Demonstrate your commitment to creating a safe and inclusive work environment that aligns with legislative requirements and promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Certifications and Checks: Hold a current National Police Check and Working With Children Check to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

What We Offer
