We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced lawyer to join our team as In House Legal Counsel and Policy Advisor. As a key member of our Executive Management team, you will be responsible for providing expert legal advice and guidance on governance, privacy, employment law, and corporate contracts.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the Privacy legislation and its application to our organisation. You will also have the ability to advise specialist legal advisors and stay up-to-date with relevant case decisions.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert legal advice and guidance on governance, privacy, employment law, and corporate contracts
- Advise specialist legal advisors as required
- Stay up-to-date with relevant Privacy legislation and case decisions
- Act as the Privacy Officer for our organisation
- Bachelor of Laws or other eligible law degree from a recognised Australian University
- Current admission as a solicitor in the Supreme Court of Queensland, holding an unrestricted practicing certificate
- Experience in working with a charity and within the aged care, education, youth, and community industries
- Extensive knowledge in the areas of contract, governance, employment, and privacy law
