About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our team at Equifax. As a key member of our legal team, you will play a critical role in providing specialized legal advice on data privacy, competition, and consumer law, as well as all aspects of commercial and corporate law.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality legal advice and guidance on product structuring, commercial contracts, and related regulatory, compliance, and operational issues.
  • Review and negotiate a wide range of customer contracts, including online standard terms, master services agreements, confidentiality agreements, IT agreements, license agreements, consultancy agreements, alliance, agency, and joint venture agreements.
  • Work closely with the Equifax General Counsel A/NZ, the legal team, compliance, and other key business partners and stakeholders.
  • Mentor team members and provide guidance on legal concepts in a commercial context.
Requirements
  • Minimum 8 years of experience as a commercial lawyer, with experience in financial services.
  • Prior in-house experience with a major corporation, or reputable law firm experience.
  • Extensive and proven experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial contracts.
  • Comprehensive understanding of data privacy, competition, and consumer law, preferably financial services law.
  • Ability to explain legal concepts in a commercial context.
