Transforming Melbourne's Tram Network

We are seeking a visionary leader to provide strategic guidance and operational oversight for a portfolio of projects aimed at enhancing the safety, functionality, accessibility, and passenger experience of Melbourne's tram network.

  • The successful candidate will possess strong project delivery expertise, with a proven track record of leading complex initiatives from conception to completion.
  • Demonstrated excellence in leadership, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement will be essential in driving project success and ensuring seamless delivery within the Yarra Trams Safety Management System, Project Management Framework, and the Franchise Agreement.
Key Requirements
  • Certified Project Director via AIPM or equivalent professional certification.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Project Management.
  • Proven experience and leadership of large and complex projects from initiation to delivery and handover to the client.
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of OHS&E legislative requirements and individual duty of care, as well as the Rail Safety Act and associated Regulations.
  • Understanding of business development principles and the interplay between contracts, operations, and commercial outcomes.
  • Experience in contractual negotiations and management at a senior managerial level, including commercial dealings with Government at senior levels.
  • Expertise in managing risk and quality, including Engineering Assurance and Project Completions.
  • High-level experience and knowledge of program and project management processes, methodologies, standards, and templates.
