About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an experienced plant operator to join our team. Our Heavy Plant Operators are responsible for operating and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery including excavators, backhoes, rollers, and loaders as well as job trucks and slashers.

As a successful candidate, you will have a strong mechanical aptitude, allowing you to recognize faults in heavy plant and apply the correct maintenance or identify the correct repair action to be taken. You will also have excellent communication skills and be able to follow instructions.

We are looking for a results-focused individual who enjoys contributing to a team environment with both team members and supervisors. The role requires physical fitness to undertake manual handling and laboring tasks for extended periods in hot and humid conditions.

The position is physically demanding, and we require applicants to be physically fit and able to efficiently and consistently undertake these tasks. This includes a requirement to maintain their weight at or below the Safe Working Load (SWL) for the machinery and equipment they will be required to use or operate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain heavy machinery such as excavators, backhoes, rollers, and loaders
  • Perform laboring duties and manual handling tasks as required
  • Work in a variety of locations across the region, including remote areas
  • Maintain a safe working environment and correct manual handling techniques

The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. We offer a competitive salary package, generous leave entitlements, and opportunities for career development.
