Senior Legal Advisor

We are seeking an experienced Lawyer to join our Legal Services team at The University of Queensland.
As a Senior Legal Advisor, you will provide strategic and commercial legal advice to support the University's goals and objectives.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements, including consultancy agreements, licenses, and nondisclosure agreements.
- Providing legal advice on a wide range of matters, including student-related issues, policy development, and administrative law.
- Contribute to strengthening the knowledge and capacity of UQ staff regarding legal and regulatory frameworks.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal clients, team members, and external stakeholders.
- Assisting in overseeing and managing legal services provided by external law firms and counsel.
We are looking for a highly adaptable and flexible legal professional with a minimum of 2-3 years of relevant post-admission experience.
As a qualified Solicitor or Barrister of the Supreme Court of Queensland, you will bring strong expertise in commercial and contract law, coupled with proficiency in drafting legal documents and resolving complex legal matters.
You will have excellent judgment and business acumen, with the ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adapt positively to change and uncertainty.
As a collaborative team player, you will be able to work independently and effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders.
