Data Scientist Role
The primary objective of this role is to contribute to data-driven decision-making across the business by ensuring data is accurate, reliable and well-understood.
This involves working hands-on with a variety of datasets, exploring, cleaning and preparing them for analysis. You will identify and address data quality issues, collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to deliver clear, actionable insights, and develop skills in machine learning and AI.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) to uncover trends, patterns and anomalies that inform business decisions
- Assist in validating and reconciling data across systems to ensure accuracy, consistency and reliability
- Support data cleaning, transformation and feature creation for downstream analysis and reporting
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports and visual summaries that clearly communicate insights to stakeholders
- Collaborate with data engineers and BI teams to troubleshoot data issues and improve data quality pipelines
- Work closely with business teams to understand their questions and deliver actionable insights
- Document data sources, assumptions and logic used in analysis to support transparency and reproducibility
- Support machine learning projects by preparing clean, reliable data for modelling and contributing to feature engineering and model development under guidance
- 2+ years experience in data science and analytics
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant STEM field such as data science, computer science, mathematics, statistics, engineering or a related discipline
- Experience in developing clear, compelling data visualisations using tools including Power BI, Tableau or Python-based libraries
- Proficiency in SQL and Python
- Strong foundation in statistical methods and practical experience with both supervised and unsupervised machine learning
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in exploratory data analysis (EDA) through commercial or project-based work
- Experience with data cleaning, transformation and feature engineering for analysis and modelling
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Awareness of data privacy principles and a strong commitment to ethical data use
