About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director, Energy Management to join our team at Optus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the development and implementation of the Optus Energy Management System (EnMS) to drive efficient energy use across the portfolio and its assets.
  • Develop and implement the organisation's energy management policy, setting achievable targets for energy use and designing action plans to achieve targets with ongoing measurement and reporting of progress.
  • Strategically approach energy efficiency by building it into project design and delivery to enhance return on investment and reduce ongoing costs.
  • Work with the Sustainability team to develop renewables strategies that reduce Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions.
Requirements
  • A degree in engineering or a related field.
  • Certified Energy Manager.
  • Strong working knowledge of the energy sector in Australia, including current challenges and the need for transition.
  • Technical understanding of equipment and processes used in the electricity generation sector and key issues affecting each technology.
  • Relevant experience in energy management, energy efficiency, or related fields.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication, relationship management, and leadership skills.
