Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Commissioning Project Manager to join our CAI Australia Data Centre team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the commissioning of mission-critical equipment, ensuring safe working practices, resolving issues, and facilitating a smooth facility handover. Your primary objective will be to plan, coordinate, and execute testing and commissioning activities in accordance with the contract schedule and budget.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Commissioning Framework Development: Collaborate with clients and/or General Contractors to develop commissioning frameworks that align with project objectives.
  2. On-Site Leadership: Lead the commissioning team onsite, ensuring the execution of commissioning activities is efficient and effective.
  3. Document Development: Create project-specific commissioning management/validation documents and procedures.
  4. Project Meetings: Lead project commissioning meetings, confidently delivering results and updates.
  5. Reporting: Develop and prepare reports that include technical content, progress, and issue resolution.
  6. Technical Commentary: Provide technical commentary on drawings, manuals, and technical submittals.
  7. Task Assignment: Assign tasks to other discipline leads and manage their progress.
  8. Vendor Coordination: Manage vendor relationships and coordinate activities.
  9. Quality Assurance: Manage the QA/QC process for MEP equipment/start-up as needed.
  10. Test Script Execution: Execute test scripts to confirm MEP equipment functionality.
  11. Safety Culture: Adopt and promote the CAI Safety culture, producing task-specific method statements, JHA's, and other relevant safety documentation.
  12. Consultative Services: Provide consultative advice to clients on commissioning and validation requirements, commissioning strategies, and methodologies.
  13. Scope Change Management: Identify and report scope change items.
  14. Tender Support: Assist the CAI Regional Manager with tender submissions and bids.
  15. LEED/Green Star Knowledge: Demonstrate a general understanding of LEED/Green Star specifications and requirements.
Requirements
  1. Education: Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering.
  2. Experience: 5-7 years of relevant experience in Data Center Commissioning, with 3 years at a managerial level.
  3. Certifications: Holder of a CPCWHS10001 (White Card – Australia).
  4. Skills: Strong knowledge of Data Centre infrastructure, including electrical and mechanical systems.
  5. Desirable Qualifications: Data Center facilities operations experience.
  6. Personal Qualities: Ability to work diligently and professionally, flexible hours, and a can-do attitude.
Working Conditions
  1. Travel: Must be flexible to travel to projects within Australia.
  2. International Opportunities: Potential opportunities to work outside of Australia (other Asia Pacific countries).
  3. Work Environment: Work under construction site conditions.
