Program Coordinator for Women's Safety and Wellbeing

This senior role involves working in partnership with the Julyardi Aboriginal Corporation to develop and implement a new initiative, Kanyjaru Ngarnarna Wapa, in Port Hedland.

  • The position aims to support women and children who are at risk of harm and provide them with access to services that address their needs.
  • It will also work towards supporting women with or without children to remain in safe and stable living situations.

Key qualifications for this role include knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values, as well as an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people, and their families.

  • Applicants should have an appropriate qualification in human services, social work, or equivalent experience and skills.
  • A combination of study and experience, including professional experience working with Aboriginal communities, will be considered.
  • Demonstrated capacity to develop collaborative relationships with stakeholders and to develop the new Kanyjaru Ngarnarna Wapa initiative is essential.
