Personal Care Assistant Job Description">

Job Summary:

We are seeking experienced and passionate Personal Care Assistants to join our team on a permanent full-time basis. As part of our dedicated team, you will create a safe and home-like environment for residents and be responsible for providing resident personal care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing high standard of care that supports residents achieve maximum independence by meeting daily living and personal requirements within the care plan and with consideration of individual preferences.
  • Providing direct resident care including assisting with personal hygiene, showering, dressing and toileting.
  • Providing general resident support including making resident beds, tidying their room and offering companionship.
  • Preparing the resident dining rooms for meal service and cleaning away at the end of a meal service.
  • Assisting residents who wish to participate in leisure and lifestyle activities.
  • Promptly responding to resident call buttons for assistance.
  • Promptly reporting any changes in resident health status to the Registered Nurse on duty.
  • Enhancing the resident experience through building great relationships with residents and their family members and responding quickly to feedback.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Ageing) or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a Personal Care Assistant in a Residential Aged Care home.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
  • Commitment to respecting the values, customs, preferences and spiritual beliefs of residents.
  • Excellent time-management and prioritization skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of workplace health and safety.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to change.
  • Willingness to obtain NDIS clearance.
