Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated professional to join our in-house Legal Team. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in providing legal services for a local government entity.

You will work closely with experienced lawyers, paralegals, and other stakeholders to deliver practical and efficient legal advice across various departments.

This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic public sector legal environment.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing support in managing litigation across courts and tribunals
  • Maintaining accurate records and updating legal systems
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders, including consultants and external legal providers
  • Conducting research, preparing case notes, and drafting advice, briefs, and court documents

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Bachelor of Laws (or equivalent) and a current practising certificate
  • An understanding of customer service, EEO, WHS, and ethical practice principles
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and ethical reasoning skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
