Ecological Expert Job

We are seeking an ecological expert to provide high-level advice and support across a range of infrastructure projects. This role involves independent and team-based work in both field and office settings, contributing to assessments, reporting, data analysis, and liaison.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage ecological components of large-scale, complex projects, including field assessments and reporting.
  • Represent the organization in client and stakeholder meetings, delivering expert guidance.
  • Mentor and support junior team members through training and technical development.
  • Manage project planning, timelines, and resources effectively.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant legislative frameworks.

Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Ecology, Zoology, Botany, Environmental Science, or a related field, with 7+ years of experience.
  • Proven expertise in Queensland's flora and fauna, including BioCondition assessments and regional ecosystem identification.
  • Strong knowledge of Queensland and Commonwealth biodiversity legislation and environmental planning processes.
  • Experience in fieldwork, impact assessments, and GIS-based data analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and report writing skills.
