Medical Officer in General Practice

This role involves working as a medical officer at a rural hospital, providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of safe, efficient, and effective healthcare services. You will be responsible for managing patients' medical conditions, performing clinical procedures, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal outcomes.

As a medical officer in general practice, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and challenging environment, where no two days are ever the same. You will be expected to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team-based setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage patients' medical conditions and develop treatment plans that meet their individual needs.
  • Perform routine and complex clinical procedures, including surgeries and emergency interventions.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as nurses and allied health workers, to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures that promote best practices in patient care.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Completed a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
  • Hold current registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
  • Enrolled in or completed a graduate medical program, such as a GP training program, that provides specialized training in general practice.
  • Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification and enrollment in a Continuing Medical Education (CME) program.
