Advanced Gynaecological Oncology Training Position

This role offers an exceptional opportunity for a pre-FRANZCOG trainee to gain advanced surgical skills and pursue a future career in gynaecological oncology.

  • Pursue a career in gynaecological oncology or develop advanced surgical skills for complex gynaecology
  • Contribute to the day-to-day medical and surgical care of patients with gynaecological oncology, under supervision, particularly for peritonectomy patients in collaboration with the RPA advanced gastrointestinal surgery team
  • Participate in teaching registrars, residents, and medical students
  • Initiate and complete a research project involving gynaecological cancer
  • Contribute to the continued development of the hospital as a tertiary referral centre
  • Assist surgeons at Prince of Wales Private Hospital every second Saturday, receiving fee-for-service assistant remuneration rates
Essential Qualifications and Experience
  • Pursue a future career in gynaecological oncology or gain advanced surgical skills (open/laparoscopic) for complex gynaecology
  • Registration with the NNSW Medical Board or eligibility for registration
  • Pre-FRANZCOG certification (year 5-6)
  • Previous clinical and research experience, preferably involving gynaecological cancer patients
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to patient safety and completion of mandatory training
