Land Management Technician Job Description

The Land Management Technician role involves undertaking various vegetation management and rehabilitation activities for private industry and government authorities. As a member of a professional team, you will be responsible for tasks such as bush regeneration, habitat restoration, native tree planting, brush cutting, weed control, chemical spraying, and vegetation clearing for bushfire management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Bush regeneration and habitat restoration
  • Native tree planting and vegetation management
  • Brush cutting and weed control
  • Chemical spraying and vegetation clearing
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in bush regeneration, including herbicide application (high volume and backpack), brush cutting, and manual control techniques
  • A general knowledge of vegetation communities, including good local native plant and weed species identification
  • Completed or enrolled in a Certificate in Conservation & Land Management or related qualification relevant to bushland management
  • Practical knowledge of work health and safety policies and procedures, risk management practice, and principles
  • Ability to operate vehicles and field equipment
  • Physical fitness, a solid work ethic, self-motivation, and ability to function in a team environment
  • A current NSW driver's license
  • White Card (construction induction)
  • ACDC/ChemCert qualifications
