Job Opportunity

We are seeking a Civil Engineering Draftsperson to join our team.

The successful candidate will be involved in the creation of technical drawings and documents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform a range of engineering design tasks on assigned projects, including engineering drawings and providing CAD input to engineering reports and presentations.
  • Develop design concepts through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats, and prepare and revise documentation in various civil phases.
  • Assist senior engineers/designers in providing CAD input to assist with developing and managing the project scope, including cost estimates, budget, staffing, and schedule.
  • Assist with inspection of construction sites, check existing structures for upgrades, and create drawings and schematics of projects using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
  • Assist the senior project civil engineer in preparing the conceptual, preliminary, and final design, and contribute toward client project meetings.
  • Provide CAD input to engineering project proposals, change orders, client contact, and communication pertaining to specific projects.
  • Coordinate technical activities and designs with personnel in other disciplines and departments, and serve as a liaison between senior engineer and design team.
  • Confirm adherence to construction specifications during each phase of a project.
  • Interact with design and construction resources during the design development and subsequent stages.
  • Ensure any changes in scope, design, or methodology are communicated to the construction team to ensure changes are incorporated in drawings.
  • Collect and collate project-specific design information for potential future usage if required.
  • Assist with the collation of all completion documents, including certificates, design compliance, as-builds, and permits.
  • Maintain and use an up-to-date knowledge of pertinent current codes and technical requirements.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar drafting role.
  • A good working knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • 12D knowledge will be beneficial but not essential.
  • Experience in drafting drainage, earthworks, roads, sewer, and water systems.
  • Excellent communication skills.
