About this Role

This role is focused on supporting individuals on the autism spectrum to succeed in employment. We are seeking an enthusiastic professional with multi-faceted skills and passion to manage relationships that assist individuals on the autism spectrum to achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct support to individuals on the autism spectrum, focusing on person-centred planning and approaches.
  • Mentor and advocate for individuals to empower them to achieve their employment goals.
  • Support technical staff and trainers to understand the needs and working methods of autistic employees.
  • Work alongside technical staff and trainers to ensure individuals are supported to succeed in the workplace.
  • Implement strategies for reaching work and life goals through a learning curriculum.
  • Develop training as needed, focusing on the inclusion of neurodivergent individuals within organisations.
  • Deliver autism awareness training to employers, managers, and colleagues through face-to-face or virtual sessions.
  • Run workshops for assessing suitable candidates for open roles.
  • Help team members recognise stress and anxiety and adopt strategies to minimise its impact.

We are looking for a professional with tertiary qualifications in a relevant human sciences discipline or equivalent life/career experience. A strength-based approach in supporting autistic individuals, experience in person-centred planning and approaches, and competence in Microsoft Office applications are essential requirements. Proactive attitude, strong teamwork focus, and highly effective interpersonal communication skills are also required.

Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant human sciences discipline or equivalent life/career experience.
  • Strength-based approach in supporting autistic individuals.
  • Experience in person-centred planning and approaches.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Proactive attitude to working in a complex environment.
  • Strong teamwork focus.
  • Demonstrated highly effective interpersonal communication skills.
