Job Title: Executive Director of Aged Care Policy

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Director of Aged Care Policy to join our team at the Australian Department of Health and Aged Care.

About the Role

The Executive Director of Aged Care Policy will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of effective regulatory policy and reform in support of the agency's objectives. This will involve providing strategic advice and analysis on the design, development, and implementation of policy and reform initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of policy advisors and analysts to develop and implement policy and reform initiatives
  • Provide strategic advice and analysis on the design, development, and implementation of policy and reform initiatives
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, industry peak bodies, and community groups
  • Represent the agency in cross-agency and inter-jurisdictional forums to advance the agency's interests
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the quality, safety, and integrity of the aged care system
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Extensive experience in policy development and implementation, particularly in the aged care sector
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide strategic advice and analysis
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
  • Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead and manage a team of policy advisors and analysts
