Employment Lawyer Role

We are seeking an experienced employment lawyer to join our dynamic team.

  • This role involves drafting, reviewing, and advising on employment contracts, policies, and procedures.
  • You will advise on complex industrial relations and enterprise bargaining negotiations.
  • Providing strategic advice on workplace issues such as performance management, grievances, and terminations is a key part of the job.
  • You will interpret legislation including the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth) and associated regulations.
  • Running and supporting litigation matters involving unfair dismissal, general protections, and contractual disputes is also a key responsibility.
  • Mentoring and supporting junior lawyers and graduates within the team is an important aspect of this role.

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • 4-6 years' post-admission experience in employment law practice (private practice or in-house).
  • A strong understanding of employment legislation and industrial relations frameworks.
  • Experience acting in all major courts.
  • Excellent drafting and communication skills.
  • The ability to work closely and build strong relationships with clients and team members.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and the ability to juggle competing priorities.
