Position Overview

  • This position is a key appointment in the Sydney Medical School, and will contribute to teaching and research in the Specialty of Rheumatology.

Job Description:

As a Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor in Rheumatology, you will be responsible for providing leadership in developing and maintaining a clinical, translational or basic science research program relevant to Rheumatology. This includes leading the development, implementation, and promotion of clinical/education programs for MD students relating to Rheumatology. You will also contribute to clinical care as part of the healthcare team in the Specialty of Rheumatology, including actively contributing to Rheumatology Department activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership in research and education programs in Rheumatology.
  • Development and implementation of clinical education programs for MD students.
  • Clinical care and contribution to departmental activities.
  • Promotion of a collaborative and inclusive work environment.

Requirements:

  • PhD in a field relevant to Rheumatology.
  • Registered as a medical practitioner in NSW with recognition by AHPRA as a Specialist Rheumatologist and Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Physicians, or equivalent.
  • Emerging national/international reputation and research track record.
  • Experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating teaching and learning initiatives within Rheumatology.
  • Network of relationships with key academic and professional institutions.
